stalland, rock art discovery

In the neighbourhood of Stalland in the windswept province of Zeeland, the Netherlands, an amazing discovery astonishes scientists all over the world. Painted by human hands some 7000 years ago, the elephants of Stalland were unknown to the outside world until recently and are at greater risk today than at any time in the past. Despite their remote location, they are near a road and vulnerable to vandals and looters. The rock paintings exalt the unknown artist who painted them thousands of years ago.
